Another take on the classic blue and white tallit. Here I combined a dark navy shantung silk with a medium blue and a silver dupioni. I originally planned to make this tallit just navy and silver, but when I received this vibrant blue in a recent shipping, I thought it really made the tallit come alive. I repeated the three colors in the atarah, which also has the tallit blessing hand-embroidered in navy. Two narrow silver stripes add interest to the back view. These stripes were actually dictated by the fact that I didn't have a long enough piece of the white to make the tallit, and so I combined two shorter pieces to get to a 72-inch length. The silver hides the seam from sight! I also made a zippered navy bag with a stripe of the blue and silver.
